ENGLISH
Rio Grappling Romania came back from the 2018 Rio Grappling Camp with more BJJ knowledge & 2 new belts. Grandmaster Roberto Atalla awarded Florin Ionescu (Head of Rio Grappling Club Romania) his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and he also awarded Mihai Vatafu (Head of Rio Grappling Club Pitesti) his Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
„Receiving a Black Belt is a huge honor in any martial art, and it is even more important in BJJ, given the fact that it takes years and years of blood, sweat and tears to master the skill set needed to consider yourself a true black belt,” said Florin Ionescu. „I would like to thank our Grandmaster Roberto Atalla and Mariusz Koziej, the leader of Rio Grappling Club Poland, for this huge honor. It is the most important day in my life as a martial arts competitor and instructor, and I couldn’t have done it without this beautiful family I like to call Rio,” he added.

Mihai Vatafu, a newly awarded Purple Belt also thanked Roberto Atalla, Mariusz Koziej, Petre Gatlan (Head of Rio Grappling Club Colentina) and his entire team back in Pitesti, saying that „none of this is possible without the support of your family and teammates, which later also become your family away from home. That’s how much passion and dedication we put into this sport, into this art.”

This is the 7th edition of the Rio Grappling Club summer camp. Every year we meet in Borowice, in Poland, at the Hottur sports center, for 7 days of BJJ drills, knowledge and latest state of the art techniques. Here are some of our favorite moments from this year in Poland.
Oh, we almost forgot to mention ( :)… not!) that Alex Vatafu, MIhai’s son, won 2nd place at his first Rio Grappling Club Cup, an internal competition organized between all the white belts. Congrats, Alex!

ROMANA
Rio Grappling Club Romania s-a intors din Tabara de vara Rio Grappling Club 2018 cu multe cunostinte noi in BJJ si 2 noi centuri. Grandmaster Roberto Atalla i-a inmanat lui Florin Ionescu (Liderul Rio Graplling Club Romania) centura neagra in Jiu Jitsu Brazilian si lui Mihai Vatafu (Liderul Rio Grappling Club Pitesti) centura mov in Jiu Jitsu Brazilian.

Grandmaster Roberto Atalla

In fiecare an ne adunam in Borowice, in Polonia, la Centrul Sportiv Hottur, pentru 7 zile de drilluri in BJJ, cunostinte si cele mai noi tehnici in domeniu.
